UK Strongman North

Welcome to the dedicated web site for the UK Strongman-North competition run each year as a major component in the popular Northwich Festival (www.northwich-festival.co.uk) held each year on August Bank Holiday Monday. This event has now developed into one of the top strongman events in the UK.
 
Having started out way back in 1985 as the ‘Cheshire Strongman’ competition, run by Northwich RUFC, it has developed into a fantastic competition and attracts competitors from all over the country.
 
Regional heats were be introduced in 2007 not only to promote the competition around the North of England, but to allow novice and experienced strongmen to practice their techniques for the final in August
 
Mark Preece, competition director and former strongman, has devised some fantastic new events for the competition. For more details see application form.

2008 ‘UK Strongman North’ Competition

This year the UK Strongman North Contest will take part in heats. Strongmen winning through the heats will then take part in the final on Monday August 25th at Moss Farm alongside this years Northwich Festival. The winner of this year’s event will receive a top prize of £500.

Heat 1 - Regional Heat Open & Novices at Moss Farm Sunday 15th June

Thanks to Vale Royal all contestants will be able to use the Moss Farm gym to warm up prior to the finals on both days. Registration will start at 11am, competitions start at 12pm.

UKStrongman-North help out BBC
UKStrongman-North recently helped out the BBC on a special Sportsround edition featuring Rugby League tough guy Paul Deacon. The program will be shown on BBC2 on 28th July.
